Greetings! I am Yolanda M. Johnson-Bryant. Many know me as “That Literary Lady.” I have been asked how I got the name, so I will share the reason here. I have been an entrepreneur for over two decades and have been in the literary industry for nearly as long. For some reason, many found it hard to remember my name, but they knew my face. One day as I was going through the airport in Dallas, Texas, someone shouted, “Hey, aren’t you that literary lady?” That name stuck with me and I claimed it!

Like a lot of you, I wear many hats. I am an author of women’s fiction and non-fiction, professional, self-help and children’s titles. I am also a freelance writer, columnist, publisher, editor, ghostwriter, photographer and radio host. In addition, I am a retired literary, social media, marketing and branding consultant. I am a literacy and community advocate, a volunteer, Toastmaster, and professional speaker. I am a community volunteer worker, and conduct classes and workshops on writing, self-publishing, social media, marketing, branding relationship and health issues.

I have over twenty-five years of combined experience in the entrepreneurial, literary, publishing, marketing and speaking industries. I received my Information Technology education from Denver Technical College, The University of Phoenix and Guildford Technical Community College.

Before diving full-time into business ownership, I worked in Corporate America for companies like Charles Schwab, Equifax Inc., RealAge Inc., JP Morgan Chase, HSBC Financial, Midland Credit Management and Triad Internal Medicine and Associates. I have experience in securities trading, credit reporting, insurance claims, medical terminology, business administration, collections, call centers, mortgage and auto loan delinquency, publishing, graphic design, marketing, branding, customer service, information technology, photography and leadership.

Currently, I am retired as the President and CEO of Bryant Consulting, Literary Wonders! And Literary Wonders! Kids, and I am the CEO of LW Media Group. In 2010, I founded, Sweethearts of the Triad, a community group that recognized and rewarded women entrepreneurs in the Piedmont-Triad area of North Carolina. Each year, we held a luncheon and awards banquet.

I am a former contributor Examiner.com, ChristianFictionOnlineMagazine.com, Ezine Articles, Women Entrepreneurs Leadership and Learning, RAWSISTAZ Literary and the Gatekeepers Post, a former division of the Huffington Post.

To date, I have published five novels, 3737 Grim Avenue, 27 Flagship Cove, Revelations, Circumstances and My Daughters Keeper. My literary division, Literary Wonders! presented and participated in Crimes of Passion: The Anthology and my touching story about health challenges and determination appeared in Jean Bailey Robor’s, She’s Got A Big But!: Get Past Your Excuses & Realize Your Dreams. I am also a contributor to the entrepreneurial anthology When Women Become Business Owners: Solid Business and Faith-Based Advice From Real Female Entrepreneurs.

I am a radio personality and host a weekly radio show on Blog Talk Radio and iTunes called On the Air With That Literary Lady. I interview a vast array of individuals like authors, entrepreneurs, speakers, doctors, technology experts and more.

In late 2015, I dove into something I have been passionate about for ages—photography. I enjoy capturing moments and places and points in time. My target audience is families, portraits and branding. I’m working my way into weddings, which is such an intricate and rewarding venture. You can check out my work and book a session by visiting my photography site.

I’ve been a career and serial Toastmaster having been the past 2013-2014 Division E Governor for District 37 Toastmasters, which covers the entire state of North Carolina. I am a member of various Toastmasters clubs across the Triad area. I have served in roles across the district that include Area 42 Governor, Vice President of Education, Vice President of Public Relations, Secretary, Assistant Division Governor of PR, District Technology Team member, District Registration Chair, certified judge and certified instructor. Since joining Toastmasters in March of 2010, I have strived for self-improvement in leadership and professional speaking. I was awarded my first DTM (Distinguished Toastmasters Award), the highest honor awarded in Toastmasters International, in October 2013. Participation and advancement in Toastmasters International have assisted in the advancement of my speaking career and has allowed me to speak to small, medium and large groups about leadership, literacy, marketing, technology, social media, health, finances, relationships and Christian issues. With retirement, I’ve slowed down just a bit, going from being a member of five clubs to one. I am a current member of Chair City Toastmasters, located in Thomasville, NC.

I have volunteered in various organizations including Junior Achievement, the Volunteer Center for Greensboro, as a mentor for the New Choices Program for the Women’s Resource Center in Greensboro, as a Volunteer Health Specialist for AARP of North Carolina, and other volunteer efforts.

As I stated, I am semi-retired, focusing on writing, photography and speaking. I currently reside in North Carolina with my husband, granddaughter and grandpuppy. I am the proud “glamma” (glamorous-grandmother) of three.
